I'm Rahul Sarin — a career fintech product builder, a decade-long financial independence practitioner, and the founder of Avance, based in the Greater Toronto Area.
I've spent two decades in fintech product development — corporate banking with a major global bank, and building securities-lending platforms used by banks, hedge funds, and broker-dealers across the US, UK, and EU. Big-institution money infrastructure, in other words. But the money work I care most about has always been closer to home: my family has been on its own financial independence journey for nearly ten years. We crossed Coast FI a couple of years ago and are now working on pulling our target date forward. Like most of the FI community, I ran it all on spreadsheets — and somewhere along the way became the finance person for my extended family and a few close friends' households too.
A few years ago, a conversation with an FI coach stuck with me: coaches change their clients' financial lives, yet they run their practices the hard way — spreadsheets, scattered calculators, chasing check-ins by email.

No. Avance is in private build. We're opening early access to a small cohort of coaches who want to shape the product from the ground up.
Financial coaches and planners who run recurring 1-on-1 client engagements and want to standardize their delivery, reduce admin time, and produce consistent meeting materials.
No. Avance provides educational insights and operational tools for coaches. It does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or portfolio management.
That's the plan. Phase 1 focuses on core workflows. Integrations with calendar, CRM, and accounting tools are on the roadmap based on early cohort feedback.
Early access participants will get preferred pricing and input on the model. We're considering per-coach or per-client tiers. No commitment required to join the waitlist.
